Title I Information

What is Title I?

Dalton High School is identified as a Title I school as part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Title I is designed to support state and local school reform efforts tied to the challenging state academic standards to improve teaching and learning for students. Title I programs must be based on effective means of improving student achievement and include strategies to support family engagement. All Title 1 Schools must jointly develop with parents and family members a written parent and family engagement policy.

Parent Survey

Thank you for participating in our Parent Survey in mid-September. Your feedback is crucial, and we'd like to share what we've learned.

Around 75% of parents feel well-informed about school activities and their child’s academic progress but expressed a desire for more advance notice of scheduled events. However, only about half of the parents feel they've had opportunities to provide input on school decisions, highlighting an area for improvement that we will address.

The survey also revealed interest in future family engagement activities. Parenting strategies and technology issues were the top two topics parents want the school to provide more information on, making up over half of the total responses. Additionally, the most popular suggestion for using parent engagement funds was to organize family game or activity nights, reflecting our community's focus on family and belonging.

We appreciate your input and look forward to creating more opportunities to meet your needs and involve you in our school’s future planning.
