DALTON, GA — Dalton Public Schools is proud to announce that Aida Krnjic has been named Dalton Junior High School’s 2024–2025 Classified Staff Member of the Year. Krnjic serves as a paraprofessional and has been a member of the Dalton Junior High community since 2015.

Throughout her ten years with the district, Krnjic has become known for her compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to students. Whether helping a student navigate academic challenges or providing emotional support during difficult times, Krnjic strives to make every child feel seen, valued, and capable of success.

“My goal is to always know my students in ways that go beyond academic and outward behavior,” Krnjic said. “I want to know them personally—their struggles, their ambitions, their fears—and to meet them where they are and help them to overcome their situations. My passion is to help them learn and succeed so their futures are brighter.”

Krnjic’s compassion extends beyond the classroom. She has served in multiple roles throughout her time at Dalton Public Schools, from custodian to paraprofessional, always focusing on building meaningful relationships with students and staff. 

“I don’t think in terms of ‘my job, his job, her job,’” she explained. “I strive to recognize needs and respond to them when I have the ability to do so.”

In addition to her work at Dalton Junior High, Krnjic is deeply involved in the local community. She has organized and led a Bosnian folklore dance group that performs across the country, volunteers with the Tim Tebow Foundation’s Night to Shine, and often presents to classes about Bosnian culture to help students understand the importance of diversity and inclusion. 

“My hope is that through these types of activities, I can bring people together to help them understand and respect each other even when we come from different parts of the world,” she said.

Krnjic’s colleagues describe her as someone who consistently goes above and beyond, always ready to lend a helping hand or a kind word. Her genuine care for others and her commitment to making Dalton Junior High a welcoming environment have made a lasting impact on students, staff, and the community.
