Dalton Public Schools is proud to announce that Nereida Martinez has been named Park Creek Elementary School’s 2024–2025 Classified Staff Member of the Year.
Martinez serves as a data clerk and part-time ESS teacher at Park Creek Elementary and has been a dedicated member of Dalton Public Schools for several years. Throughout her career, she has supported students, families, and staff through multiple roles, consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to service, accuracy, and collaboration.
In her role as data clerk, Martinez works closely with families and staff to ensure student records are accurate and complete, understanding that these details directly impact student services and support. She is also actively involved beyond the school day, working in after-school and summer programs and volunteering to assist with school events and activities.
“What sets me apart is my dedication to supporting students and families in every area I serve—from behind the desk during the school day to working directly with students in after-school and summer programs,” Martinez said. “Whether I’m helping a family navigate the enrollment process, supporting a teacher with timely information, or mentoring a student during summer learning, I approach each task with care, patience, and pride.”
Colleagues note that Martinez is known for her willingness to go above and beyond to help others, her attention to detail, and her ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. She also gives back to the community through volunteer work, including coaching youth sports and participating in local service activities.
