Dalton, GA – Dalton Public Schools is excited to welcome families to its Spring Enrollment Event on Thursday, March 26, 2026, for those seeking to apply for Out-of-Zone, Out-of-District, or Out-of-State enrollment.

The event will take place from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the 101 Building, located at:

101 N Thornton Ave, Suite 100
Dalton, GA 30720

This special enrollment event is open to:

  • Families new to Dalton Public Schools

  • Current elementary school students seeking a school transfer

  • Current high school students in grades 9–11 interested in transferring to another Dalton Public Schools high school

Please note: Current 8th grade students rising to 9th grade are not eligible to apply at this event. That application deadline has already closed, and notification letters have been sent. For appeal inquiries, families should contact info@dalton.k12.ga.us.

WHAT TO BRING

To help the process go smoothly, families should bring the following documentation for each student:

For families new to Dalton Public Schools:

  • Proof of home address (current utility bill or lease in parent/guardian’s name)

  • Birth certificate

  • Social Security card

  • GA Immunization Certificate (Form 3231)

  • GA Eye, Ear, Dental, and Nutrition Certificate (Form 3300)

  • Parent/guardian picture I.D.

For currently enrolled DPS students requesting a transfer:

  • Proof of home address (current utility bill or lease in parent/guardian’s name)

  • Parent/guardian picture I.D.

Important clarification: If your child is currently enrolled in grades Kindergarten through 11th and is attending their school under a previously approved Out-of-Zone (OOZ), Out-of-District (OOD), or Out-of-State (OOS) application, you do not need to reapply. The student will continue under the previously approved contract unless it has been revoked.

However, currently enrolled OOZ/OOD/OOS Pre-K students who wish to enroll in Kindergarten as an OOZ/OOD/OOS student must submit a new OOZ/OOD/OOS application for the 2026–2027 school year.

CAN’T ATTEND THE EVENT?

If you're unable to attend the March 26 enrollment event, you can still apply by visiting the Enrollment Office during regular business hours.
