Read. Cook. Learn. Together! šŸ³šŸ“š

Get ready for Cook with a Book!, a family literacy and numeracy workshop series for Dalton Public Schools families with children ages 3-9 (Pre-K through 3rd grade).

At each Saturday workshop, families will read a featured book together, create a recipe through interactive writing, and cook it as a family, building literacy, math, and fine motor skills along the way. Families get to take home the food they prepare, plus practical tools to keep learning at home.

Here’s what’s on the menu:
šŸ„ž November: If You Give a Pig a Pancake
🌮 January: Dragons Love Tacos
🄧 February: Pie Love You
🄚 March: Green Eggs and Ham
šŸ› April: The Very Hungry Caterpillar

šŸ“ Roan Roundhouse
šŸ—“ļø One Saturday a month, beginning in November
šŸ‘Øā€šŸ‘©ā€šŸ‘§ 15 families per session

To be considered for a spot, parents must complete the registration form. Spots are offered to the first 15 eligible families, and a DPS representative will confirm selections. Each workshop has its own registration, so families will need to register separately for each session. Families who aren’t selected will be placed on a waiting list and notified of future opportunities.

Cook with a Book! supports our Dalton Reads initiative by encouraging a love of reading at home. Spaces are limited, so register today! šŸ‘‰ https://forms.cloud.microsoft/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=gFYg6YRaWUiHRBVlO6te8n1WeX2ijElOpoLli1Zc05pUQUpIUzNHSjRBQVRUMEUzREJTRFZFVUhQNi4u&origin=QRCode

A day in the life of a lineman! ⚔

Students from The Dalton Academy, Dalton Junior High, and Dalton High School got a hands-on look at a career that keeps our community powered. Hosted by Dalton Utilities, The Dalton Academy, and Elite Lineman Training Institute, the experience gave students the chance to see climbing demos, try on PPE and climbing gear, get up close with bucket trucks, and hear from instructors and linemen working in the field.

Thank you to our partners for opening the door to a career path where students can explore their futures! šŸ”§šŸ‘·
