Students picked up free books at the Dalton Reads Van, picked out fun spirit gear at the Pep Session Cart, and stopped by to place pre-orders for their student t-shirts and Build-A-Paws kits.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students, connect with teachers, and show your Panther pride! Take a look at some of the fun moments from tonight here and in our album!

A Token. A Book. A New Story to Take Home.
👉 Donate to Books on the Block: The 405 Book Project:
https://shop.scholastic.com/viewCampaign?lang=en_US...
When one of our students is recognized as a PAWSitive Panther, they receive something extra special—a token for our book vending machine!
That token means they get to choose a brand-new book of their very own to take home and KEEP.
That’s where our community comes in!
Donations to Books on the Block: The 405 Book Project help us purchase the books that keep our vending machine stocked and ready to celebrate our Panthers.
🐾 $5, $10, $20—it all adds up to more books in the hands of City Park kids!

PAWS was so excited this weekend to receive a special donation to the City Park Media Center from a special community partner! It was the collector’s edition of The Dot, just in time for Dot Day!
International Dot Day, celebrated annually on September 15, is a global event that inspires creativity, courage, and collaboration by encouraging people to make their mark on the world. The day is inspired by the children's book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, in which a student who doubts her artistic abilities is encouraged by her teacher to "just make a mark". What begins as a small dot transforms into a masterpiece, symbolizing the power of personal creativity.
City Park will observe Dot Day this year on Friday, September 18.
There is also a community outdoor photo booth display where students can stop by with their families to take Dot Day photos.

Once a Panther, always a Panther! ❤️🖤
At last night’s Dalton High School football game, some of our former City Park Panthers—now high school cheerleaders—shared a special moment on the field with our current Panthers participating in the Little Cats cheer program. We love seeing our former students encouraging and inspiring the next generation of Panthers!
From Little Cats to high school cheerleaders, the Panther spirit continues to shine! 📣✨

🎉 City Park Papel Picado Project 🎉
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15–October 15, and our ESOL Department is inviting the entire City Park community to help us fill our hallways with color!
Students will bring home a papel picado coloring sheet to color and decorate with their families. Please return the finished sheet to any City Park ESOL teacher. The completed pages will be joined together to create festive banners for our hallways!
Papel picado, which means “perforated paper,” is a traditional Mexican folk art created by cutting beautiful, intricate designs into brightly colored tissue paper.
We cannot wait to see our City Park community’s colorful creations! ¡Gracias por ayudarnos a celebrar! ❤️🎨
